A task can be achieved only when both physical and mental powers are there. There is an argument that with the physical power we can achieve any task. In reality we can observe that if the mental balance or peace of mind is not there, it cannot be achieved.
King Krishnadevaraya and his court Jester Tenalirama were walking in the Royal streets. They were amazed to see a young lad with a good physique pushing away a well grown elephant which came on their way. The king appreciated the young lad about his physical prowess and told Tenalirama that with muscular power anything can be achieved. Tenalirama could not accept King’s statement. So King asked him to prove whether his findings are correct or not. Tenalirama told the king that he will prove that the physical power cannot achieve without mental stability.
After a week’s time the same scenario came but this time the young lad could not push the elephant which came on their way. So King enquired what the reason is. Then Tenalirama explained.
That young lad was a fatherless person and was well taken care of by his widowed mother. Tenalirama made the young lad’s mother not to provide any food or amenities for a week's time. He had been asked to search for food on his own. The worry to find for the food and other allied things made him to loose his mental power which resulted in depletion of physical prowess.
Both Mental and Physical strength are needed for a person to achieve a goal and for a peaceful life.
