பக்த விஜயம் படித்திருக்கிறீர்களா என்று என் நண்பர் வினவினார். ஏதோ கொஞ்சம் தெரியும் என்றேன். உடனே அவரது கேள்வி "பண்டரிபுர அபங்கச் சக்ரவர்த்திகள், தெலுகு தேச கவிகள் பக்த ராமதாசர், அன்னமையா, த்யாகராஜர் கன்னட தேச தாசர்கள், மலையாள தேச கவிகள் பலர் முதலில் கஷ்டங்கள் சோதனைகள் எல்லாம் சந்தித்தபின்பே கடவுள் அவர்களுக்கு அருள் செய்கிறார். ஏன்?"

இதற்கு மற்றொருவர் விளக்கம் அளிக்கிறார்.

கஷ்டம் இருந்தால்தானே கடவுள் நம்மைக் காப்பாற்ற வருவார். வியாதி வந்தால்தானே வைத்யம் செய்ய வருகிறார். எப்பொழுது மனிதன் பகவானை நினைக்க முற்படுகிறானோ அப்பொழுதே அந்தக் கடவுள் ஓடோடி வருகிறார். படித்தவனுக்குத் தானே பரிக்ஷை. கடவுளும் அவனுக்கு பரீக்ஷைகள் வைத்து தன் அருளால் நீங்காத இன்பம் அளிக்கிறார்.  இதோ தியாகராஜர் இதையே
