Talk of (Chemical) Tablets

In India, Pharmacist plays a main role in the field of Medicine.
Patients get their medicine directly from pharmacy by consulting them for their ailments. The general view of public, why they are avoiding doctors for consultation:
1.   Crowd in the clinics or the patients have to pay consulting fees for each visit, exorbitantly.
2.   Compulsory pathology tests in clinical laboratories with some vested interests.
3.   Directing the patients to the hospitals which they are visiting, even for trivial ailments.
Recently I took one of my relative for normal eye check-up. The patient had the rare opportunity of seeing all the scanning instruments which the hospital got imported recently. Of course at patient’s cost only as well as usual lab tests viz. blood test, urine test, x-rays etc.

I got the following forward in my e-mail box which is really interesting.

For The medicines prescribed either by doctors or by pharmacists we pay more because of the brand name. We can follow the following steps which will give us a light how costly the branded medicines when compared to the generic drugs.
1. Log on to www.medguideindia.com
2. Click on 'Drugs'
3. Click on 'Brand'
4. Type the brand name which you are using (e. g. Metocard XL (50 mg). The site will also help you with drop down menu) & Click on 'Search'
5. Click on 'Generics'. It will display the ingredients of the tablet.
6. Click on 'matched brands'
7. Don't be surprised to see that same drug is available at very low cost also. And that to by other reputed manufacturer.

e. g. Metocard XL 50 is for Rs. 62.00 & same drug by Cipla (Mepol) is available ONLY @ Rs. 7.00
